Hāna Nutrition Center

The Hāna Nutrition Center is a commercial kitchen designed to prepare, nutritious meals and food products using Hāna Fresh Farm produce at its core. Currently, meals are prepared for:

• The Mai E’ Ai (Come Lets Eat) Kupuna (senior) Meal Program which provides congregate and home delivered meals for Hāna’s elderly.
• Healthy Living Programs, designed to prevent or help those with chronic health conditions (diabetes, heart disease) or weight management concerns begin incorporating better nutrition including traditional foods and physical activity into their daily lives. Cooking demonstrations, nutrition education and food preparation activities are an integral part of this program.

After several years of planning, meetings, public hearings and fundraising the new and improved Hāna Nutrition Center is now under construction. Completion of the the new commercial kitchen is projected for fall 2011.
